He Traveled For 3 Years Across 60 Countries. And Then He Released This Amazing Video...!

On a recent session of Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything), Walter Chang answered some questions on his epic journey to people who had questions regarding backpacking.

Hey Reddit!
My name is Walter Chang. After being overworked and tired with the way my life was going I quit my job and started to travel. What began as a three month plan ended up as a three year trip around the world to 60 countries.
I went to South America and trekked through Patagonia. In Zimbabwe, hippos, lions, and elephants roamed through our camping ground. When I got to South Korea, my relatives treated me as one of their own, despite having last seen them 18 years prior. The highs were also met with the lows. I caught food poisoning several times, was robbed of everything in Chile, and nearly died when my car flipped over in the deserts of Namibia.
He also shot a lot of footage during his travels, which he then edited to release this awesome video.

These 3 Super Moms Drove All The Way From Delhi To London While You Kept Making Failed Travel Plans

While you were planning for 'that Goa trip' to finally happen this time around, in a parallel universe, 3 women - all mothers in their mid 30s - drove all the way from Delhi to London! If that wasn't cool enough, they did it in less than 100 days! Yes, that's right.



A whopping 21, 477 kms via road, Rashmi Koppar, Dr Soumya Goyal and Nidhi Tiwari had been planning the trip for a while now. Having only one driver in the team did not let them down and the women bravely faced rough terrains, high altitudes, unending snow, and heavy rains together, all with a smile on their faces.



Travelling 600kms a day, the trio began their journey in June 2015 and went all the way from India, Myanmar, China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbe kistan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Finland, Czech Republic, Germany and the United Kingdom, reported TOI.



Setting a kickass example of badassery, Dr Soumya shared that they wanted to tell the women of the world that such expeditions are possible and that there was nothing to be scared of. "We avoided driving late at night, instead, spent evenings exploring the cities. In fact, we didn't find a single woman driving on the highway till we reached Europe," she told TOI.




Out of the trio, only Nidhi had prior experience in off-the-road jeeping and long-distance, high-altitude driving, but that didn't prove to be a deterrent in their journey. The trio documented their inspiring journey on Women Beyond Boundaries.

But a 21,000 km journey without challenges is just not possible. They had their fair share of problems as well. The ladies had to make do with sign language and Google translate in a lot of countries.

Another thing that they did not see coming was the Myanmar landslide. "When we were stuck due to a landslide in Manipur, the locals offered to help us. We trusted them and stayed with their families and also got to taste home-cooked Manipuri food. The trip reinforced my faith in human goodness," Rashmi was quoted as saying by TOI.

With no back-up vehicle, their fourth partner in the journey was their loyal Mahindra First Choice.

After one hell of a roller coaster ride, these badass ladies are finally back with their families.

Here’s How This Couple Hitchhiked For 511 Days From Bulgaria To Bhopal Without A Smartphone...!

While most of us can't get through an hour without constantly checking for notifications on our smartphones, Bulgarian travellers Boris Kanev and Marta Samalea and their cat managed to hitchhike all the way to India without even resorting to the luxury of a smartphone!

After 511 days of travelling across Asia on the road, they made their way into India via Myanmar.

"Now they roam the subcontinent, drink tea, feast on vegetarian wonders, enjoy time with friends and write a little book of tales, while looking for a way back home", reads their blog Roving Snails.

Armed with an ever-so-reliable old Nokia handset, the couple set out to savour the raw experiences and flavours that their travels would inevitably bring forth.

After over 500 days offline, the couple says that disconnecting from social media and spending days soaking up what nature has to offer has been liberating.

The idea of not having access to apps like Google Maps while travelling in unknown countries might be unnerving for most. But Boris and Marta found adventure in exploring their own routes and interacting with locals on their travels to find their way across the subcontinent.

They say: "We did it  searching for more experiences and encounters than landmark photographs".

An inspiration to aspiring travellers, Kanev and Samalea are of the opinion that when things slip out of your hands and out of control, one can just go with the flow.

This Indian Couple Quit Their Jobs And Travelled Across The Country On Just ₹500 Per Day

If money was no object, then what you would do with your life?"

Ask this to anyone and more than half of the respondents would include travelling in their answers. Because who does not want to see the world? The only thing that is really stopping anyone is, obviously, money. Remove money from the equation and everyone would only be travelling.

Now, till you do that, meet Devapriya Roy and Saurav Jha, the couple who is telling everyone that when it comes to travelling, money is not as important as you might think it is. And this is not theoretical. They are saying it from experience.

Both of them quit their jobs and backpacked all across the country with a paltry budget of ₹ 500 per day - combined.

Not only did they manage to pull it off, they have published a book too, complete with their amazing adventures. The book, The Heat and Dust Project: The Broke Couple's Guide To Bharat, is now available at all major online sites.

Fried with their 9 to 5 jobs and basically with everything a job-oriented, city-dweller's life encompasses, Roy and Jha quit their jobs and took the first step to discovering Bharat by travelling across the country - from the Himalayas to Kanyakumari.

In their pilot run, Devapriya and Saurav covered Dharamshala, McLeodganj and Kangra, then moved to Jaipur, Ajmer, Pushkar and Jodhpur, and farther to Jaisalmer, Barmer and Sanchor, after which they went to the state of Gujarat and eventually reached New Delhi.

When speaking to HolidayIQ Saurav said, “The budget bit was a given, of course. Living in the whole yuppie fashion meant that however much we earned, our savings were paltry. We had to make it last as long as we could. But more than this, we wanted to be free in our travels. Divest everything that kept us tied to our nine-to-six, mall-going, office-tripping identities. There is nothing freer than travelling with no frills”.



Their book does not focus only on their brilliant planning, it is also replete with a whole lot of "wacky" stories featuring unusual people. And needless to say, not every story is rosy.

"There is good-scary and bad-scary. I’d say, good-scary was on a night-time cruise down the Yamuna at Mathura, hearing ghost stories from our boatman. Bad-scary was an incident in a bus to Jaisalmer, when a co-passenger was nearly assaulted and we became a part of that whole episode" says Devapriya.

Travelling together is also the ultimate relationship test, as the book will tell you. Along with that, it will also tell you "how to eavesdrop effectively while you travel", "German bakeries in India" and "what you should do if a stranger invites you for dinner atop a gigantic sand dune in Barmer" amongst other things.

They make what seems like the journey of a lifetime sound so easy.
